Can you walk across the border? Is there a way to get around once you are over there. We will be in the Big Bend area in November and thought about swinging down to Presidio and checking out Ojinaga.

You can walk across the border but the central square is not very close to the crossing. I've driven across a few times and had no problems so you can easily do that. There isn't a lot to do in Ojinaga but enjoying a good meal is always a nice option.

I agree with the previous poster. Driving is not a problem in Ojinaga, and it's a long walk across the bridge and to anything of intrest.

There are a few good restaraunts in Ojinaga, plenty of bars, but not much in the way of shopping. When you cross the bridge your on Blvd. Libre Comercio but the main drag to the centro is called Transvina y Retes, which intersects with Libre Comercio. Take a right when you get to it to go downtown.

If your dead set against driving across, you can use the Presidio taxi service to take you there, and bring you back. Their # is 432-229-2959.

Ojinaga is more like towns farther in Estado Chihuahua and not like other border towns. Not much there, but certainly worth the experience of checking it out.
