| Rabat | apartments in rabat Posted: Mon August 21, 2006 07:30 PM UTC
coucou!
i'm moving to rabat in about a month's time and am getting a little anxious about finding an apartment to rent...does anyone have any suggestions re: websites to check out/contacts, and what areas would be lively, yet safe to live in?? i'm going to be teaching and hopefully doing a fellowship, so i will be on a budget, but nothing crazy! cheers all and a+ rachel |

I know 2 friends each renting a good 2 bed room appartemnt in a good part of town for less than 4000 Dh (less than 500 $). I suppose a one bed room or a studio will coast less. I know an American female friend who is staying with a moroccan lady, she was teaching English and learing Arabic. I'll try and get a hold of her (she left Morocco few weeks ago) and see if she could hook you up in a similar arrangment. I'll e mail you the contact information as soon as I find it.
I don't think that web sites are the way to go in Morocco. Check with american embassy. I am sure there are other americans in simillar situation and would like to share and appertment. good luck

Hi rachel,
if u're familiar with french, then you can try this website to look for an apartment. I think the area should be agdal, it's the best place to live in rabat. Anyway, if u want , i can look for an apartment for you as I'm living in rabat and i'm familiar with apartments and real estate. ( I don't charge anything, this is just if i can help u)

Just for the records, Agdal is not the best area you can live in in Rabat; there are more locations like Hassan and Hay Riad, but this latter is quite far from downtown and expensive, so I recommende Diour Jamaa, Agdal or Hassan.
I am from Rabat and I know it very well. welcome and good luck!

Agdal is where the love is.

Have you relocated to Rabat already? I am moving there on October 1 (will also be teaching while there), and am having the same concerns about finding a place to live in the city. Hoping that you may have some advice to pass along to me... Thanks!
