hi,me and my family are staying in playacar ( hotel viva wyndham azteca )in october and we would like to visit chichen - itza.Could anyone tell me what would be the cheapest way to get there? and also how long would the jouney be ?
also if anyone knows if the water park is any good.We have 2 kids aged 7 and 4 and would appreciate any advice on good days out ?

We were in the area last month. As the previous posting stated, the easiest way would be with an organized tour. I'm sure you can book this from your resort. My wife and I opted for more flexibility and rented a car and spent the night in Vallodolid. We got an early start and were at the ruins before the tour bus crowds and the daytime heat. For us it was well worth it, but I don't know how much time you have available.

My guess is that the tour would cost you about $45 USD per person, and for a little more you can rent a car for two days and get a room at a motel (with a pool). We've got some more info on out VT homepage. Either way, the trip to the ruins will be worth it. Have fun.
