is the beach a thing we can do? or is it too far??? and is it too cold in December? our little daughter loves the water but we are planning our getaway for December whats the average weather like?

Palm Springs is great in December... not tornados, sunny and warm weather around 25C - 30C and the beach is readily available. No problem for your daughter to enjoy!
We'll be in Pompano beach, 30 minutes from there... in December too!

Palm Springs is out in the desert areas of Southern California and is about 100 miles from the beach (maybe 2 hours drive), so you'll have to do some extra planning for that. The weather for Palm Springs, CA in December will probably be in the low to mid 70s (20-25C) with cool evenings in the low 40s (4-6C). Might get some rain too, but better chance for that in Jan-Feb.

Are you talking about Palm Springs, California? If so, there is no beach near there at all. Or do you mean Palm Beach as in Florida... a different story.

The Southern California beaches are nowhere close to Palm Springs (2 out of 3 previous posters were rights). It is not too cold in December, which is why Palm Springs is a popular place in the winter. If your daughter wants water, she'll have no problem in Palm Springs. There is a ridiculous waste of water in Palm Springs with all the mega pools and fake lakes in a desert environment. But don't get me started... At least they haven't built a fake Pacific Ocean beach...not yet anyway

Palm Springs is in California - NOT Florida as is Pompano and Palm Beach.
From here the beach is 100 miles and is cool and windy in December.
Palm Springs will be 80 degrees F and sunshine with lots of swimming pools!
