I wanted to know what is the easier way to get from the southwest side of siena to the train station. I know it is a rather long walk and I was considering either the bus or a taxi. If a bus would be easier is there anywhere online i can find a bus route map?

Yep. The transportation website for buses in and around Siena is http://www.trainspa.it/en/home.html - and it's even in English ;-)
