Hoping to go on a holiday of a lifetime soon and need to know if the quickest way to get to Dover from Scotland is to fly to Gatwick then get a train from London to Dover which will take about 4hrs I'm told. Is there a nearer airport to Dover than Gatwick? Thanks x

Gatwick is the nearest - there isn't another airport I cna think of. There is Manston in Kent but I do not think it takes commercial flights.
FRom Gatwick you would have to take a train to Brigton and the train to Ashford and then change for Dover.

You can get a train from Gatwick to Dover with one change, taking around 2 h 20 mins. Use www.nationalrail.co.uk to find the times and fares; enter Dover Priory as your destination.
