Hi everyone

I was wondering if someone could give me advice on how to get from Bangalore to Kochi. I arrive in Bangalore early hours (4.30 am) of Sunday morning and was wondering best way (quickest) to get to Kochi. I am a female travelling alone.

The quickest way to reach Cochin is by flight..ofcourse if you can afford.

Air Deccan has a flight departure 6:00am from Bangalore and arrives Kochi at 7:15am.

Jet airways leave B'loe at 10:15am and arrives Kochi at 11:35am

Indian airlines has flight in the afternoon at 1300hrs and and some evening flights are also there.

Just tried Jet to get prices but it says can't do e booking for Cochin yet. Also Air India no flights for my selection. Just wondering where you getting info? I am probably being silly and doing something wrong.
Air Deccan looks good except I think cutting it a bit fine as International flight gets in at 4.30 am.

Any advice on other forms of transport or other airlines?

Yes...you got it wrong because AirIndia doesn't fly to Cochin from B'lore.
Indian airlines (now called INDIAN)flies from Bangalore as per following schedule on sundays.
Departs BANGALORE(BLR)
Arrives COCHIN(COK) 27 Aug 2006
27 Aug 2006 1245
1340 Airbus 320 IC909
Non-Stop INR 1680.00
On other days for example the tmings of Indian are:
Departs BANGALORE(BLR)

With regard to Jet airways, the directflight schedules are:

Kingfisher airlines also has two flights everyday from Bangalore to Cochin:

You already know the flight details of Air Deccan.

If you are flying some time week starting from 27th Aug then you may need to book in advance because of an important festival called Onam. On otherdays i suppose you can buy and get a seat just across the counter at the airport.

Other modes of transport are trains and buses that involves over night journey and advance reservation is a must fro the trains.
