I've recieved great and helpful info via email from people who've made the border crossing from Trabzon to Batumi. I'm wondering if anyone's done this recently (in last 6 months or so), particularly starting from the Trabzon airport and if they can provide any guidance or advice?

If no one has done this border crossing recently, any advice from getting to the airport to the town center or bus stop?

Trabzon airport is very near to trhe city
you can find easily taxis,minibusses and airport shuttle busses of Havas
to the airport and vice versa

if you are planning to come from Batumi to the border by bus or other transportation possibilities the name of border in turkiye is called "Sarp" and its very near to the city name "Hopa" you can find directly a transport possibilities from Sarp or definitely from Hopa to Trabzon.

Ah.....simple! thank you yet again..you've been tremendously helpful! :-)))

From Trabzon to Hopa is one bus, then (through intuition possibly, I don't know) when the bus arrives in Hopa, you get out and within seconds someone takes your luggage off you and transfers it into a smaller bus and whips you off to the border itself. No hassles, no problems. Turkish people make everything so easy for travellers.

Well we got home on Thursday (despite the air problems) and I started back at work today - its been a rotten day

city centre is very close to airport five minutes by minibus called dolmus in turkish . get on dolmus which and tell them to get u off at terminal(bus staion ). from there u can easily find buses for hopa the georgian border .
