Hi there.
I'm visiting Lulea at the beginning of October 2006 because I'd love to see the Northern Lights. What are my chances of them appearing? Also, I know Lulea is a university town - are there lots of cool places to hang out in the evening? I like rock/alternative music! If anybody has any advice for me, I'd be very grateful. |

Hm...October is not as good as in winter when it gets really cold which is the best for spotting auroras. However, it could be perfectly possible as it is getting dark again up there after the bright summer.
I can't tell you anything about Luleå's nightlife. "Nearby" (by northern standards) Umeå is bigger and even more studenty but Luleå should certainly have some places to go to. Most websites are in Swedish only but you could always try to mail the student office: http://www.lulea.se/studentkontakt/
