| Gloucestershire | Is there any cheapish accom near The Slaughters??? Posted: Sun August 13, 2006 07:11 AM UTC We have to attend a wedding in oct in Lower Slaughter and seeing as UK Pound vs Aussie dollar is kinda scary we are searching for the cheapest accom possible! Seems like I'd have buckleys doesnt it?!! but Iam ever the optomist! Bride suggested Stow-on-the Wold or Bourton as most convenient... opinions anyone??? Thanks in advance! Emma |

There a couple of very good websites that help with finding B&Bs and hotels in the UK. The Cotwolds area is unusually expensive because it's very appealing to tourists (it's beautiful!). Try the following - lots of choices. We once stayed at the Churchill Arms near Chipping Camden - a really simple but good place. Sorry I can't remember what we paid.

Well if you can get picked up there is cheap accomodation at Travelodge at Chippenham on the M4. What dates are you looking for? travelodges are very decent places to stay and are very clean and comfortable and good value.
Some dates in October can be had for £15 a night and other dates for £26 a night. All depends what your dates are and if you can be picked up or maybe you are driving anyway so it wont be a problem.

I stayed in a very nice B&B in Bourton and walked to the Slaughters. (Of course you wouldn't want to walk there if you're dressed for a wedding, just to show you that it was really close.) If you're interested I can mail you the address.

Stow has a decent YHA, not sure if there are private rooms. You'd also have to pay to become members and it might be too basic, but worth a look?

Thankyou everyone for your speedy responses!
I have found a self contained studio apartment in Bourton for 100 pounds for 3 nights so have taken it. We will be carless so wanted to be as close as possible! If anyone is interested its called The Windrush Apartments and the link is here.... http://www.windrushapartments.co.uk/index.htm obviously I dont yet know if they are any good or not but will report back after my stay! Thanks again Emma
