Albuquerque Relocating need help with specific locations please
Posted: Sun August 13, 2006 01:27 AM UTC
Hi, I am going to be relocating from the California Bay Area around Oct. I have heard that the bad areas are kind of scattered about all over the place so its hard to tell if one part of town is good or bad. I will not have a chance to visit before moving so I am looking for places online. I was hoping someone can provide me opinions on the following apartments and their locations please? I am interested in places close to shopping, and maybe a movie theatre or other entertainement. This is a lot of places I am interested in but if you could just pick a couple or tell me which ones to really avoid i would greatly appreciate the advice =)

I would avoid the Villa Apartments and the Whispering Sands Apartments are borderline. Based on the locations, La Mirage, Valle Grande and Praire Hills are good. I don't know the northwest side of Albuquerque well enough to judge.

North East area is the best place to live in ABQ. North West is ok too but the commute will be long and stressful. Tramway Ridge apartments (4777 tramway blvd NE) used to be a very good and reasonable priced place to live (in 2004). I would avoid La Mirage as well as all areas south from Central AVe.
Hope it helped.

I can tell you DEFINATELY do not do whispering sands apartments. Crime rate has risen in that area, It was pretty bad when i moved out of there several years ago, and from my girlfriends who live up there it has not gotten any better.
