We will be flying into Santiago airport. We need to get to Playa Cofresi (which is 30 minutes west of puerto plata). Is it easy to get a taxi around Dominican Republic and how expensive are they?

Any help you can give in this area would be greatly appreciated!!

Very easy to get a taxi Price depends on your ability to barter last trip I traded a bottle of perfume for an 2hour ride. 20$ bottle. What day are you going I am going sept 22nd. It's a hour drive at least to p.p and 30 minutes on top where your going may be if dates work we could share the cab fare. I went to punta Cana last time

Thanks solo-man. We will be visiting next March for spring break and are already looking forward to seeing the Dominican Republic. Thanks for the tip on the taxi. I think I may check with the Aligatour company to see if how much it would be to take us to p.p.

I noticed that you posted the question about getting from Santiago airport to Playa Confresi. We are planning the same thing and since your posting was a while back, I was wondering if you've gone and how things went (price, time, etc.) Also, anyone else reading, numbers and contacts for taxis or transportation services from Santiago to Confresi would be welcomed.
