Jasper National Park Travel to the Rockies

We are intending to travel to Canada in November/December time, starting with 3nights in Vancouver, join the Canadian train to Jasper, but wanted to know if anyone knows whether there is a coach service from Jasper to Banff, and then Banff to Calgary Airport and how much it would cost.

Alternatively we were thinking about hiring a 7 seater car from Jasper to Banff and then Banff to Calgary Airport but unsure about driving conditions and whether this would be recommended. Could someone please advise.

Hi,

Heres a link too VIA Rail Canada

You should be able to cost and plan your rail trip on this site.
The weather in December can be really upredictable. The last couple years have been VERY mild. It comes down to how comfortable you will be driving in winter conditions. The highways are kept up and the snow is usually cleared, if it gets that bad they will close off the roads and there is always lots of trafic in those areas. I will recomend that if you do choose to drive, drop off the car at the first drop off point as soon as you get into Calgary and take a cab to the airport. Its not that easy to find and Calgary is growing so fast they can't keep up with the expansion which makes it horrible to drive in. Now that I have said that, if you have the opportunity to spend some time in Calgary do it, its a fantastic city.
