How much does it actually rain during the rainy season? Are we talking frequent showers interspersed with sun, or non-stop rain. I'm planning a trip in December and wonder if I'm crazy to do that.

Usually you are talking about almost constant rain from about 3-4pm onwards through much of the night but you'll find that on most days you can still do outdoor activities as long as you plan to finish by 3pm.
But these days the weather changes all the time, doesn't matter where you are...

We were in Borneo last December. It did rain, but far less than expected. The weather was lovely a lot of the time.
