If you want to leave from Reggio di Calabria (Centrale or Lido) you will have to change trains at Villa San Giovanni, which is where the ferry leaves from.
So, it would be easier to start your journey in Villa San Giovanni. Either direct trains or trains involving only one change (in Messina Centrale or Messina Marittima) will take you to Taormina Giardini in about two hours. On the direct IC Plus trains a reservation is mandatory! Check out train schedules at www.trenitalia.it (also in English).

Yes, the train goes on the ferry! It's very easy and cheap.

I need some help.... I, Plus 3 other adults, am traveling Sunday 24 Sept from Naples to Taoramina, then 1 Dec to Sorrento, then 4 Dec up to Rome, then back to Naples to catch my flight home. How in the world do I do this? Should I get the one country three or four day Saver Pass? Is there a phone number at Trenatalia? The one on the website doesn't work... Looking for advice...
Thanks, jim
