Antarctica Flying to Antarctica from Argentina and staying one or two nights
Posted: Sat August 5, 2006 06:48 AM UTC
I'm thinking of going to Argentina in December or January and would like to go to Antarctica. Well, the key word is "like." Time and money are huge factors... I've read that a tour package exists which will fly you from Argentina to Antarctica and you spend a day or two there. Even just a day trip would be great. I just want to step onto the land/ice. I'm not interested in just flying over ... I've searched the Internet, but have not had much luck. Even the cruise boat operators don't want to list their prices... any help would be appreciated...

By the way, has anyone taken advantage of these "last minute deals" from Ushuia to Antarctica? I'm curious how easy it is to find such deals and what it costs...

I've yet to learn of tourism flights being allowed to land on Antarctica. If you find any I'd be interested to know, as until now it was not allowed.
Tours by ship of course are allowed, but in the past no flights for paying passengers, only scientific and sanctioned projects.
