Hi,
can anyone recommend a nice hotel in or near downtown Limerick? Is there a site somewhere on the Net which has all hotels of the city listed up? Oh, and how long does it take to get from Shannon Airport to Limerick by taxi? Thanks a lot in advance, Kristina |

I worked in Limerick for about 3 months and always stayed in the little guesthouse called Alexandra Guest House on O'Connell Street. It's very good value for money and the people who ran it were very friendly and couldn't do enough for me.
The taxi was about 20 minutes from Shannon.

There are quite a few hotels in Limerick to choose from - depending omnn your budget.
The best value hotel in the town centre (nice rooms bar/ restaurant) is Jurys Inn 3* quality (dont get confused with the more expensive Jury's hote - 5*l!) details can be found on www.jury's doyle.com. slightly more upmarketare 'The Clarion' (4*) - on the riverfront, or the 'Southcourt' or 'The Castle Troy Park' (a bit far out). Shannon is about 30 mins from Limerick, and there are plenty of hotels on the way. Theres a 'travel lodge' - bit cheaper, just outside limerick on the road to shannon, along with 'the two mile inn' and the 'sas Raddison'. But my advice would definately be to stay in the 'Jurys inn'. Great location, right side of the city for Shannon (avoids traffic - which in limerick can be awful!) and reasonable price (by Irish standards) about 70 Euros a night. Hope it helps a little, but check out the hotels on thier websites. Need anything more just post another inquiry. good luck
