We have been frequent travelers to Playa del Carmen, usually staying at places like Royal Hideaway or Secrets. When we go in Feb, we would like to consider spending some time in Cozumel (where we've only visited on cruise stops).
Are there any truly upscale properties, whether AI or not? |

Intercontinental, Presidente Hotel scheduled to 're-open' in October. This would be the best of the best on the island!
Also there are 'deluxe condominimums' that are available through rental agencies. GOod luck! Enjoy!

We were at Presidente 9/05 before Wilma and after Emily - still had unrepaired damage from Emily. Very few guests at the time and the service was incredible. Food at the restaurant was the best we had on the island and we didn't have a bad meal on the island. (Not AI) Snorkeling on the beach was excellant. Have pics if interested. ~Deb

Have not been there since 13th trip having gotten very ill (several months and hospital stay.) It was our first time at Presidente. Had always stayed at Le Cieba until they went time share. This was pre-Wilma. Would like to dive there again but really gun shy. Even rewiews of all-inclusives refer to illness.
