Siena drive time

How long does it take to drive from Siena to Rome? We have a flight at 10:30 am out of Rome and need to know when we should head out of Siena. Also, what is a good source for directions?

which day of the week and.. which week? if it would be next weekend you should consider at least two hours more of what wwww.viamichelin.com says.. that's could be good for Sept.,23rd.

Thanks for the website suggestion. It would be either the evening of the 9th (Wed)or eary morning of the the 10th (Thursday), depending on how long it is estimated to take.

Let's consider to be at airport two hours before take off, but as those will be hot days better to be there three hours to avoid overbooking so you should be there at 7:30 and it's could be doable if you leave Siena by(before) 5 am.
Once at airport stop the car at entrance and all of you except driver and all lagguage could go to join the line at check-in and the driver to drop the car. Once you'll have your boarding pass have a coffee, walk, duty free shopping...

Ilaria I don't know how fast you go by car, if you take motorway or not, from Siena to Roma airport (Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino) the distance is 260km including 209km on motorways and time 02h41 including 01h48 on motorways (as reported by www.viamichelin.com). At five in the morning there is no traffic and it could be doable in 02h30, let's to stop for a coffee but not more the three.
Of course leaving Siena later in the morning to be in Rome by after 8 it take ages just from "raccordo Anulare" to get anywhere especcially if saturday or sunday morning.
:-)

On other hand it could be possible to sleep close to airport the night before.
