Hi Laura

We had 14 days in Croatia and Slovenia last October, both countries fabulous places. We had 2 nights at Plitvice Lakes , but stayed in hotel, a full day trecking the lower and some upper lakes, very nice , you are welcome to view my photos on my Croatia pages. As you have a car I recommend if you go to Zagreb you cross the border into Slovenia and spend 2 days visiting the capital city Ljubljana and onto Bled, then head back over the boarder to Croatia at Poatija and drive down the coast to Zadar, Trogir and Split. You can visit the islands from here , and then drive Split to Dubrovnik , a city not to be missed. We went to all these places, except islands and had a fabulous time. You can see it all on my VT pages
Good Luck, Mikebb

Hello

Your plan sounds fine (Dubrovnik, Hrka, Hvar, Split, Sibenik, and Rijeka..). It always depends what you want to see and do: history, fun, big tourist centers, nature. I recommend also Zagreb and Paklenica national park, maybee Varzdin on north...
For Plitvice accommodation, I was last year there in private accommodation, it was not expensive and pretty cool, close to entrance in park. I found it accidentally but now they have internet site with every information you need.

Hi,
I'm just back from croatia, area split.
We stayed on a small camping in Slatine on the island Ciovo which you can reach by car via Trogir and it's a 40min drive to Split. It was a very quiet camping (only 30 places) and very cheap (100 kuna/day for 2 persons-tent & car). http://www.dovolena-chorvatsko.cz/slatine_domic_k.htm ,here's their internetadres which includes some pictures and e-mail.
If your looking for private accommodation, you'll find all over croatia signs that says zimmer-kamers-room-appartiment, prices differ a bit to which luxery you get.
For staying in the plitvice area ,I also stayed at the camp just nearby the entrance. There are simple bungalows for 2 persons or more or you can put your tent up. http://www.np-plitvice.com/page.aspx?PageID=116&lan=en
Have a nice holiday and enjoy croatia, I did!
Greetings Jorg.

If you are lookign for camping near Plitvicka, try Korana ( http://www.np-plitvice.com/page.aspx?PageID=116&lan=en ). I was there few days ago, and it was good. Its quite cheap- the price was like on any other camping which we had visited in Croatia. National Park in Plitvicka is really great so you have to visit it! Also try NP Krka (I've heard that you are allowed there to swim under the waterfall- unfortunatelly I got to know it when I left Croatia :( ). You should also add to your trip Pula- this city have a lot of monuments from times of Roman Empire and beaches with crystal water and beautiful flora and fauna ;)
I hope you will enjoy your trip :)
