Flåm Travel Forum

I am having a very difficult time finding accomodation in Flam, all of the 3 hotels I've contacted are booked out. Does anyone know of any off the beaten track hotels or guesthouses that may be free? Or maybe someone can advise me if there is likely not to be a chance in finding something at this stage? We are taking the train there tommorrow, Tuesday 25th July. Maybe there is another town nearby where accomodation won't be as thin on the ground?

Flåm is often fully booked in July partly due to it beeing a popular stop to the Rallarvegen bike trail. I would try the nabouring village Aurland, it has more of a village feel than Flåm and is in my view nicer than Flåm unless you are doing a kayak trip or Rib boat trip out of Flåm. I would try:

try staying in Aurland, that is the centre of the community and a bit larger...

this page has a lot of accomodation links... http://www.alr.no/?dv_action=accomodation&sp=GB in Flåm itself you find a youth hostel and the Fretheim Hotell as largest places to stay... close by towns are Aurland, Undredal and Gudvangen.

Thanks very much, but I already back from holiday! Hope this helps others in search of accomodation in Flam I am glad I didn't stay there, anyway.

Can I ask where did you stay at the end?
