I don't know the best, but if you are in NC, try a good BBQ and when I lived there you could go to what the carolinians called "fish camps". They served mostly fried catfish with hush puppies, cold slaw and fries. Delicious! Also, look for "soul food" restaurants. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy local cuisine rather than other ethnic eats.
