Odes'ka Oblast' Odessa Travel

Hi, I am traveling to Odessa early September. I am looking on the best/cheapest way to get from Odessa To Budapest - i.e - train, air, water ways. If you recommend a train, please let me know if it is safe. Also, is it better to purchase tickets from US or directly in Odessa.
If someone can recommend a good hotel or apartment rental in Odessa, that would be great.
What are the best recommended clubs, restaurants, shopping areas?

Thank you in advance.

Hi

There is a nightly train from Budapest Keleti Pi that leaves around 19.00 to Lvov and arrives in Lvov the following morning around 09.30 it is safe there are attendants in every ccoach and it is possible to lock the compartment doors from the inside the price in a 3 berth sleeping car second class is about$70 A connection leaves Lvov around 17.00 in the evening with four berth sleeping compartments and arrives in Odessa the following morning around 09.30 fare around $30 again it is safe like the train from Budapest.

A good Hotel in Odessa tourist class is the Hotel Yunost see travel to Ukraine website. price around $38 per night cat ch the 194 or 195 minibus froma railway station be casreful of taxis they overcharge. Very little English is spoken in the Ukraine except meues in some restaurants so try to learn a little russian so that you can at least make out some street signs etc.

Cost of living is cheap around $10 in a restaurants for a meal and a bottle of Odessa Gold Champaigne.

Hope this is of help
