How to organize the gorilla trekking myself? If it is possible or if it is obligatory organize this with travel agency? I and my friend would like to visit rwanda and uganda at the beginning of october.

in Rwanda you could be quite sure to meet the primates.

If you don`t want to go with a travel agency, you have to organize your transport to the meeting point by your own, there is no public transport. The tour starts at 7:00 at the Park Headquarter in Kinigi.In any case you have to buy a permit ( 375 US §) through the ORTPN in Kigali or Ruhengeri or Kinigi( Office Rwandais du Tourisme et des Parcs Nationaux ).
It is not possible to walk on your own apart from you wouln`t find them. There are 5 habituated groups and only eight permits each day and group are allowed. Btw: the Bradt Travel Guide is a really good advice !
I will travel to Rwanda in october.
