Would appreciate any recommendations as to the best way to get to Port Arthur - assuming that I am flying into South Africa from northern europe.

Quickest way, fly to Port Elizabeth, hire car and take a 2-hour drive to Port Alfred.
Nicest way, fly to Cape Town, hire car and take a week or two to drive to Port Alfred.
