We're going to Gdanks this summer and we want to go the Gniew castle for the Annual King John III Sobieski Tournament. Is this worth seeing and what trainstation do we need to get to the castle. Apparently Gniew is not a station.

Nearest train station is in Morzeszczyn, 12 km from Gniew.
I suggest rather direct bus from Gdansk (approx. 75 minutes): 9:50 - direction Smetowo Graniczne 11:10 - direction Torun 13:20 - direction Wloclawek 16:30 - direction Sanok

I see you know what you're talking about. Do you know the Gniew Castle and is it worth using a day of our holidays to see the Annual King John III Sobieski Tournament? Do you also have information about the way back to Gdansk? Maybe any other things really worth seeing in Gdansk or in the neighbourhood of Gdansk?

Return buses to Gdansk:
15:00 19:15 21:04 If I had to choose I would rather go to Malbork castle than Gniew Some info on other attractions: http://www.gdansk.pl/en/article.php?category=454&a I can also recommend museum of steam locomotives in Koscierzyna

If you want to see a castle, go to Malbork! It's much more worth seing than Gniew ;)
In Gdansk you should visit St Dominic's Fair which starts on 29 July (it's the largest open-air commercial and cultural event in Poland and one of the largest in Europe) and numerous events will take place then. It'll last till 20 September and I think that this is the best time to visit Gdansk I hope you'll enjoy here :)
