Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Ottawa pubs and Bars
Posted: Sat July 15, 2006 07:50 AM UTC
Four of my friends and I (ranging from ages 19-25) will be visiting Ottawa for a weekend in august and bungee jumping in Wakefield. We will be staying on Albert Street. Does anyone have recommendations for some fun bars and pubs that we can go to that will be in walking distance to the hotel. Because we are in the business district it seems like it might be hard to find nightlife that will be interesting for a bunch of crazy college kids on the town.

Thanks for the help
T.C.

I know there's a great pub at Queen and Elgin; just one block from Albert.

Start there or else walk further into the Byward Market area.

I may be off one block.

Try Darcy McGee's on 44 Sparks Street and Master's Brew Pub on 330 Queen Street.

Ottawa isn't that big, wherever you are in downtown, you can easily walk to most anything. As mentioned above, the Byward Market area has a number of bars that attract the young crowd, and others, and the area is always busy on summer weekends. Plenty of places to check-out.

As mentioned, the Byward Market area...one block North of Rideau Street is full of bars...everything from high class to the other end of the spectrum. You would most likely meet more folks in your own age group than most of the places on Albert, Queen or even Sparks Street.

Have fun and enjoy your visit....and please respect our city....we want a fun time had by all.
