I saw on a tip that restaurants don't serve alcohol on Ko Lanta, only bars, and those open later in the day (or evening?). Is this true for all restaurants, and can you buy beer at a supermarket?

we were in ko lanta last year and all the restaurants were bars as well and the all sold alcohol
