Curaçao Travel Forum

My dad grew up in Curacao in the 40's and 50's. In sept we're heading there as a family to see where he lived etc but as far as we know all our family have moved to St Maarten now. Any suggestions about somewhere cheap to stay that will accomodate 4 of us... Also anyone know the Molanus family?

Sorry to say, this last name is not a popular, commun name in Curaçao. Does not appear in the phone directory. I know Maria Buncamper-Molanus is a member of the Antillean Parliament and State Secretary for Constitutional and Internal Affairs, and, indeed, she lives in Sint Maarten. You could try and mail her at: maria.buncamper@gov.an, this would be no trouble.

WOW, I'm sorry i posted the same answer thrice...but I forgot about your accomodation. There is this guesthouse downtown that's CCCCC: central, cheap, clean, comfortable and cozy. Nothing fancy, but good enough and will accomodate for reasonable price: check out http://www.pietersz.com/Guesthouse.htm.
I'm sure you'll find it a great place to stay. And you know what?? The cicil registrar's office (I reffered to in my former posting) is located exactly across one of the two Pietersz' Guesthouse buildings!
