Nassau All Inclusive Bahamas BUT no meals!
Posted: Wed July 12, 2006 02:01 PM UTC
Why do the majority of hotels offer all inclusive (flight/hotel) but do not offer food and drink? Is it that cheap tp eat and drink in Bahamas? Im thinking of heading down there for a week in October. What's the weather like and where should I stay for a full all inclusive? Thanks in advance.

I went to the bahamas without an all inclusive and stayed at the Atlantis. Of course it may just be the hotel, but we found it extrememly expensive. $9.oo for a glass of wine. $35 for a couple of burgers and fries at lunch. Anywhere from $150 to $300 for dinner for just myself and husband. We ventured out to a couple of restaurants and they were still pretty expensive.

Wow! $35 for a burger and fries. Maybe I wont go to Bahamas. But I am seeking beautiful white sands. Ooo the decisions. At that price it's way out of my price range. Unless I find an all inclusive with food and drinks. Thank you.

Try the Riu Paradise Island. It is all inclusive ie: food, drinks and watersports. The beach is long and beautiful and it is right next door to Atlantis so you can walk over there to go to the shops or the casin. The food at the Riu is surprisingly good.

Bahamas food is very expensive. However you can get some decently priced food at Cafe Johnny Canoe's and at Arawak Cay. There is also a Sbarro's pizza place near the Wyndham hotel, probably would be a cheap option. A good price for a meal is $10-15, but again most places the food is at least $20/plate. The water is beautiful there! I definitely recommend a trip. But yes, you should plan to spend a lot of money on food/drinks unless you can find a hotel that includes it.

Going to Nassau/Paradise Island for the second time in October. Would recommend an all-inclusive!!! Food is very expensive. Last time, lunch was not included in the plan so we ate a late breakfast and an early dinner. Staying at Riu this time, I can't wait!!!

I'm going at the end of October, and compared all-inclusives to hotel only rates, and even if the food is expensive, it's WAY cheaper to get the hotel only and eat out. There are three of us sharing a room, so all inclusive would actually cost us 3 times more than splitting the room 3 ways. So, I don't think we'd spend $260 each on food in 3 days. And this way we're not limited to eating only at our resort. Any comments on the Best Western?

We just came back from the Riu last week. The food was very good. There were three of us also and no I don't think we ate 250 dollars worth of food each although my weigh scale says otherwise. Anyway you also have to consider the convenience. I would hate to be running around before every meal trying to find a place to eat. Now that Atlantis has almost finished their "huge" new
convention centre, the road in front of the Riu has been redirected permently and the hotel is cutoff from direct access to the Hurricane Hole shopping centre. You either have to walk the long way round or go through the Atlantis Hotel. Smart thinking on their part. Anyway also consider the cost of everyone of those Pina Coladas etc., that you drink poolside. If you pay for all of those seperately that can add up also. If anyone has any questions regarding the Riu, don't hesitate to ask. Carolyn
