Mumbai Train Blasts.
Posted: Tue July 11, 2006 07:56 PM UTC
I just returned home after trying to go to work at the airport in the night shift but the trains on the Western Railway were not running after the blasts and the roads were blocked totally so nothing moving at all. All traffic was just waiting for hours on end with not even a crawling movement visible. People were waiting outside their vehicles for hours. Sadly returned home and am now online. About 160 people have died and many more injured in the 8 blasts that took place all on the Western Railway all over Mumbai city. Women who cannot reach home due to the trains not running are being accomodated in school halls and public are out on the roads giving biscuits and water to people stranded on the roads in their cars. May peace prevail and those injured get well soon, sad to hear about the loss of lives and courage to those who lost their near and dear ones. Just wish this crazy violence would stop someday soon.

Aadil.

yes i too hope this crazy violence stops. we heard on the news in london and i called our relatives in mumbai, apparently they also use the same train but she was off today. i use the london metro and i could see that the security even here has increased. i just hope the police can catch the culprits. i was amazed to see indian people giving biscuits and water to people stuck on the roads, and yet i hear that mumbai is less friendly city - which i surely dispute.

I am so sorry that the people of Mumbai are having to endure the pain that is left behind, both physical and emotional, after such horrific events. May peace return to our world.

We are one with the Mumbaikars in their quest for peace. I am confident of the resilience of the Mumbaikars and their will power to rise up from this recent tragedy.

Well the following morning things back to normal. The wester train line which was shut yesterday have the 7 blast more or less back on track with a few delays in some sections. Roads clear and things moving again smoothly. The stock market is UP too ... PROUD to be a citizen of Mumbai

Cheers

I think the people who make this city deserve an applause. I take the Western Railway from Churchgate to Andheri every day. Another Hour and that would have been me. Last night as I slept in the company of loved ones and my pet Lab Yargo, I couldnt comprehend what actually happened.....a few person's insanity resulted in so much grief. I hope justice is swift and I sure do hope these people realize that fate can be a terrible equaliser!

Regrettedly

Thanks to one and all who wrote in to express their support, much appreciated. Mumbai is up and running and no one can really stop it from being the way it is, so what if we may be termed rude or nasty, we are like this only!!!

Cheers,
