There is an express bus from Kota Bharu to Ipoh, Lumut, Kuala Lumpur.
The bus normally stop at Grik.
No problem. You just go to the Kota Bharu bus station and look at the counter for Ipoh.

As far as I know, there are at least two bus companies operating from/to Ipoh - Kota Bharu i.e Transnational and Rasima Ekspress

Actually we book a mini bus from Tok Bali to Penang. But the van neverturn up so the owbner arrange a taxi from Kota Bahru to Grik. A bit cramp and hot... but I save time by travelling during the daylight hour. Reach Butterworth after 6 hour of journey. The scenery became very nice and cool as we climb toward Dabong and Grik. Then descends towards the westcoast going through some new road that cut through the mountain range. Would be a good route for cycling, watch out for the lorry though... wonder any tiger left in these jungles.

cheers
