Weather during January

I have never been to this side of Mexico before and was planning a trip to Playa del Carmen this January with some friends. What is the weather like during that time? Also, is the water fairly warm as well? Thanks!

We went in January. The weather was in the mid- 80's. The water was warm. It rained a couple of days. Walking around on the beach was nice because it wasn't too humid or hot.

I think it's a good time to go as it is the dry season. It may be a little cooler tha other times of the year as it's winter, but that's not a problem over there. Enjoy .
