| Ko Tao | Koh Tao Accomodation in July Posted: Sun July 9, 2006 11:53 AM UTC
Hi there,
I intend to go to Koh Tao as from mid July and have no idea whether I should book and hotel in advance or not. I would like to avoid to sleep on the beach or to have to book a presidential suite... Thanks for your help. Steve |

Hi,
Most Thai places in the average price range (not the places with presidential suites!) don't take booking, because they don't trust people to turn up. This is probably the case on Koh Tao. The island is small and quite undeveloped, in Thai terms. So the best thing to do is just to turn up and check in without booking. Watch out around just after Koh Phangnan Full Moon Party though, the island gets busy with people all coming to Koh tao from the party. Most people going to Koh Tao are giong for diving, and each dive resort usually has its own accommodation, so no problems if you're planning to do that. Otherwise, more and more guest houses and resorts are setting up all the time. Check out http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels/Asia/Thailand Does this help?
