Hi,
My friends and I are going to be renting a car in Athens and driving up to Meteora. I've been looking around and haven't been able to find any driving directions other than "from Athens head north." I bought a map, but would like to find a way to get accurate directions like "take Road A to exit B and continue north on Road C." Anyone know where I can find some directions or anyone know them? Thanks! |

From Athens take the National Highway direction North (Thessaloniki) and follow it to Lamia and then Larissa. 5km before Larissa you turn west (I think there is an overfly), direction Ioannina, you pass around Larissa city and continue to Trikala, then Kalambaka. Kalambaka is the city at the foothills of Meteora.
Greeks are not very familiar with the road numbering but they use mainly the names of the destinations. If you ask "where is road #..." they will ask you "where you want to go?". Signs are good and always in both Greek and Latin alphabet.
