| Estado de Oaxaca | Thanks the advice. Booked flight this a.m--Finalizing lodging! Posted: Sat July 8, 2006 09:53 PM UTC
Thanks for everybody"s advice! Booked our flight this morning, 8/2-8/11. So far we are thinking:
2 days Oaxaca (I would love to see if Casa Machaya has openings)--if not any other suggestions--looking to stay under $100 usd per night. 2-3 days Puerto Escondido. Villas Carrizalillo looks great--other options Santa Fe? Any other suggestions? Hoping for lodging costs of $100-120/night or less... 3-4 days Puerto Angel/Zipolite/Mazunte. I've received alot of advice, not necessarily advising against this move, but more questioning the necessity of it since PE is fairly close. Don't know, but for part of the trip I am looking for "the off the beaten path" kind of experience--kind of ultra laid back, sleepy, and funky. Found a place, Casa Pan de Miel in Mazunte, really nice--isolated but accessible to places that we want to see Zipolite, Puerto Angel, by a fairly short taxi ride. From what I understand, PE is still an hour away from here. Has any one heard, seen, or had experience with this place? It looks wonderful. Other choices we are thinking of are Villa de Luna or Casa de Huéspedes Gundi y Tomas", .El Alquimista, or La Posada Cañón Devata--anybody know anything about these places? Like to keep this leg under $80 usd/night for lodging. 2 days in Huatulco. Sill unsure about this part. Although the area seems absolutely gorgeous, it also seems somewhat sanitized, lot's of development, little "real Mexico"...maybe just the feeling I get looking at websites. For here we are thinking private condo--seems to be a lot available. You all have been great so far--any additional advice is greatly appreciated! |
