My girlfriend and I have about 4 hours to spemd in YiChang on July 17.
Our cruise ships docks about noon and our Hainan Air Flight departs for Xi'an at 19:00. I really don't wish to spend the afternoon in the YiChang Airport from what I've heard. I believe it is about 45 minutes from dock to airport by taxi? Anyone spent an afternoon in YiChang? I'll have seen the Dam from the Cruise Excursion A nice lunch and a stroll down a real China street or two with a walk along the docks sounds pleasant? Any memorable sites / experience in YiChang? I haven't come up with anything to do in YiChang that does not take over an hour drive to get there? Thanks, Steve |

We ended up getting a driver for Noon till 7PM for $250. Saw some caves which were OK and had a great lunch at Yansha on YiLing ave. Then went to a Sturgeon breeding center which was pretty neat (Worries abound on how they'll handle the dam). Airport was nice and quiet. Hainam plane to Xi'an was small but roomy seats!
