I am a 29 yr old avid travel, having traveled to lot of countries....and now i am on my way to realising my dream i.e. VISITING LADAKH
Can anyone suggest me the best route to travel to leh between the Srinagar - Leh and Manali - Leh route... Also suggest me shud i travel alone or join a travel group for my trip...i am planning to visit the place by end of this month or 1st week of August.... Are State Buses better or the private bus operators for my bus trip? |

Hi,
Both Srinagar - Leh and Manali - Leh routes have their own beauty and charm. But the Srinagar - Leh route is not safe, but if you still want to experience the paradise, you can take this route one-way. You can start from Manali - Leh and then go back from Leh to Srinagar. People normally do Manali - Leh trip on bikes in groups but since you are alone, you can hire a taxi from Manali. I won't recommend buses (state or private) as they are slow, least comfortable and not-at-all reliable. You might find some travellers from Manali, you'll join you.... try posting another msg on this board inviting other travellers to join you...
