Blue Mountains National Park Getting to The Blue Mountains by train

Hello,

I want to ask you how much is the train ticket from Sydney to Katoomba. How can we get from Katoomba to all the lookout and bushwalking trails.

regards

I went 2 years ago so I don't quite recall the prices but it was fairly cheap. Katoomba has a fairly decent public bus system that drops you off most of the major sites-23 or o i think. Lovely town, you'll enjoy it very much.

It's pretty cheap but cannot remember off hand the cost of a return train ticket (about AUD$20-25).

It would not be possible to go to all the lookout posts and bushwalking trails - there are so many of them! If you are going for the day and plan to go to Katoomba, then you will need to concentrate on the immediate area. That's not a problem - Katoomba has developed as the main point for this very reason. There's plenty of viewing points in Katoomba, access to cliff top or valley floor walks, the most photographed of all the Blue Mountain icons - Three Sisters - is a 10 minute walk from the train station (or there is a tourist bus that runs round the town dropping people off at all the main attractions), the Scenic Railway and the Scenic Skyway are all here. The excellent Visitors Centre at Three Sisters is a good place to start. An enjoyable but fairly easy walk is from Three Sisters to Cascade Falls in Leura along the top of the valley (lots of dramatic views) - you can then catch the train from Leura back to Sydney rather than schlepping back to Katoomba.
