from PP to SR the boat is the best option I reckon. $25US and 6 hours. The scenery is beautiful. You see genuine rural Cambodia

Hi there, We flew one way and caught the bus back, it was great, we booked 2 seats each (for a bit more room as the seats are small) was with Mekong express, cost $11 each and that includes a drink and pastries. Lots of photos from the bus trip here. Havent done my travelogue pages on Siem Reap but lots of info on Phnom Penh.

I don't like that boat trip. Noisy, uncomfortable and the scenery really isn't that great. The Mekong Bus service is only $9 one-way and takes about 5 hours. Even faster is renting a taxi (Toyota with driver), but the price for that is around $40-50 for the car. If you have other passengers you can split the cost, or just pay the regular passenger fee for the ride. But if you do that you'll be sandwiched in the car with a bunch of locals and the car may stop many times en route. Not a fast or comfy option. The plane, however, is fast (less than 1 hour) but obviously more expensive. Keep in mind that there is also a domestic departure tax, which will add to the cost.
