Charleston What would be a nice area to live?
Posted: Thu July 6, 2006 10:21 AM UTC
Hey there!

My husband and I are planning a move to Charleston in about a year or so. We both visited the US in Feb 2006 and we LOVED it, especially the South! So now we're going to come and live there for 12 months, and i decided that Charleston looked like a great place to be, you know, becoz of all the history, and the pure Southern-ness of it all.
We'd like to rent an apartment or condo in a nice, safe, well respected, upper-class neighborhood, but NOT a beach area.
Can anyone tell me which neighborhoods would be suitable? Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks guys. :)

Charleston is a great place to live. I would recomend Mt. Pleasant at the are to live. It is an upscale area and close to the historic area, beaches and shopping. I have a 5 year old little girl and it is great for kids. In Mt. Pleasant you should try Parkwest. There is also an area called Daniel Island that is also upscale. Hope this helps.

You may want to look into West Ashley, Mt. Pleasant, or Summerville. All three are more upscale neighborhoods comparatively, and are not exactly on the beach.
