The cheapest or the fastest means of travelling?
The cheapest would be a shared car rde that you could book at www.mitfahrzentrale.de or similar places.
The fastest would be the train: see www.bahn.de
There are also flights from Frankfurt to Berlin but you will not save time or money by flying. The train service will be faster door-to-door.
Long-distance buses are not a real option in Germany.

What exactly are you hoping to see? Museums? Churches? Shopping? Parks? History? Palaces? I spent five days in Berlin last month and still didn't see it all; not even close. So, for a two-day trip, you'll have to decide what you really want to see. We can't tell you the best way to do so until we know WHAT you want to see.

Thanks a lot for the info , the free walking tour sounds intresting and i checked the site for rail ...I just need a clarification ...My flight is in the morning from frankfurt, is it possible that the train which shows 8 hour travel from berlin to frankfurt is a direct train ( ie We would not have to get down and change stations or train ) Idea is to sleep off the night in the train and reach early morning by 7 clock Frankfurt.
Could you kindly suggest
Thanks

If the bahn.de timetable does not show a train change, then it is a direct train. On a night train reservations are required, so you should reserve your bed a couple of days, or better 2-3 weeks, in advance.
