I rented a house for a month when I got married in Lahore.

It was a furnished house which was owned by a family based in the UK, who only use it for 2 months in a year when they spend their vacations in Pakistan. Otherwise it remains empty. Try if you can find something similar in your area in Karachi.

do u have any preference of the area u want to rent a house. For i know b/w 30 to 40k, u get an unfurnished house portion with 3 beds, cos i was recently lookin for a place myself. maybe u get an apartment. let me know if u have any preference, so that i can ask my acquaintences/friends.

Wow! Has Pakistan really become that expensive? When I got married in 2003 I rented the 2 bedrooms of the lower portion of a house for 15000 Rupees. And it was furnished!

Yes during the past couple of years, prices have really sky rocketed. It is very difficult to find a decent place with a reasonable rent. 30 is avg for a 3bed non-furnished. maybe in some localities it's cheaper. And definitely apartments must be cheaper, say around 20-25 maybe.
