Hi,

I will be staying in Annecy for a few days.

On Thursday 13 July 2006 I need to travel from Annecy to Albertville and back. The following day, Friday 14 July, I need to travel from Annecy to Thonon and back. I don't drive. Are there any methods of public transport I can use such as local bus services, trains, etc.? If not how do I hire a taxi and how much, approximately speaking, would they cost?

Of course there are trains and buses. The local train schedules (and some buses, those that are run by SNCF) in France can be seen at www.ter-sncf.fr, you have to select the correct area on the map of France then, as the system is region oriented.

...or simply use the German or Swiss railway sites for schedules: www.bahn.de, www.sbb.ch; they will give only the schedules though, not the prices, bu are more user-friendly for the former.
