I'll be going to Canberra, most likely this coming Sunday, but I can't be sure. Would I be risking having no place to stay if I don't make a booking in advance?

Get in touch with the YHA - Don' t think I'd go there without accommodation for the first few days - then change once you've find something better- sooooo cold..
