| Lhasa | View of Everest (Chomolungma) Posted: Sun July 2, 2006 12:40 AM UTC
Looking to get a decent photo of Everest on the way from Lhasa to Khatmandu. Is it necessary to get a tour that turns off the road and heads south toward base camp or can you see it ok from the road? Is it customary for a driver to stop for a picture or am I going to be photographing at 90 miles per hour?
Thanks. |

You can see Everest from Pang La but it is quite far away. The view from Pang La is great. Try to go to Rongbuk if you can, from Rongbuk, you can see that Everest is right in front of you, just some more steps you can reach the bottom of Everest but Rongbuk is 8km from EB!.
