Hi!
Why not flying from Munich or Frankfurt? Should be a whole lot cheaper, even if you have to buy a train ticket and spend a night at the youth hostel. Try www.statravel.de or www.flugbuchung.com if you speak German.

I guess more connections that you get, the tickets get cheaper. PIA and Emirates are quite expensive. Look into ethehad or gulf air. They may have better options.

Bonjour Leni,

Besal's right, the best to be on Emirates, their flights're not direct but the prices're reasonable same as Qatar airways.

I believe your dressing in Egypt will also fit here and there shouldn't be any problem. Concerning plain water, you can buy it locally...and the best/reliable is NESTLE. Readily availabe from Karachi to Khunjerab.

All European country has a Pakistan embassy/counulate. You will have to apply there. Check with a local travel agent who may be able to guide you better.

Salut mon ami,

They'd ask you for a letter of recommendation from your embassy when you apply for a Pakistan visa but if you're directly coming to Pakistan, you better apply in Europe all the countries've got Pak high commisions there but if you're coming to India and then Pakistan you better apply for the visa in New Delhi because it's cheap and easier to obtain as compared to the visa in Europe.

In addition, as long as you're in the south you can drink botteld water but if you're in the mountains(Chitral, North pakistan) you can use spirng water especially on the trekking itineraries.

For clothing you've to be careful if your Egptian clothes're in the same style as Pakistni clothes than it's okay otherwise you may receive some stares.

I wish you bon voyage au Pakistan.

pa_leni: I used to live in Vienna until a month ago and travelled from there to Pakistan quite a few times. As you might know there is no non-stop flight from Austria to Pakistan. As you live in Maribor, the PIA flight from Milan (Italy) would be a good option. That is a very expensive one though.

At the moment, the cheapest way to go from Vienna to Lahore is the following:

Fly from Vienna to Abu Dhabi with China Airlines and from Abu Dhabi to Lahore with Etihad Airways. A friend of mine from Vienna is in Pakistan at the moment using that option as it costed him just around 600 Euros per person. I can give you the contact number of a travel agent in Vienna, who would arrange that flight and would also tell you the exact fare. The guy is really good, I have booked flights through him several times.:

Airlink Travel Agency

They have their office right opposite Millenium City in the 20th district of Vienna.

I just checked on the website of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry. There is no Pakistani embassy in Slovenia.

So I guess you will have to apply for your visa at the Pakistani embassy in Vienna:

Embassy of Pakistan
Hofzeile 13
1190 Vienna

Tel: (+43 / 1) 368 73 81
Fax: (+43 / 1) 368 73 76
