My boss just came back from Positano. He is very upset with himself, because he and his wife went shopping there and came across a painting. The painting was of the city of Positano. He said he saw it in one of the shops on the island. I tried on the internet to get a listing of shops in the area or art galleries. Cannot get a thing. Was hoping that someone could help.

are you sure of Positano? Positano is not in a island.
anyway in Positano seems there is Aniello Cinque http://www.aniellocinque.it In Positano there are often several events, your boss may have seen an art gallery which was there (or it is still there) for few days/weeks. Why don't you contact the municipality? http://www.comunedipositano.it :-)
