| Tangier | What is the cheapest way to Tangiers from Gibraltar or Malaga? Posted: Tue June 27, 2006 07:50 AM UTC
Anyone know how much the ferry costs from either of these ports (or any ports near these)?

From all my previous needs to get to Morocco frequently and on a sensible budget i either flew to Malaga and then bus 2 hours to Algeciras and ferry over - 10 euro malaga to algeciras then 25 euro to tanger.
or if to gibraltar then 1.60 euro bus 45 minutes from 5-10 minutes from the gibraltar airport over the border in la linea to algeciras bus station and then 5-10 mins walk to the ferry and then ferry 25 euro. or you can catch a taxi 21-25 euro from la linea to the algeciras ferry terminal. coming back is much easier to go from tangier to tarifa 35 minutes 25 euro fast ferry and then they have a bus to take passengers, included in the ticket, from tarifa to algeciras with the added bonus that that bus stops at alegciras ferry terminal where you can catch buses back to malaga or stay on the bus to the bus station which is just around the corner from the buses to la linea. if coming from malaga there are direct buses from the airport that go to marbella which is half way along the route to algeciras and there you meet a bus thats come from the malaga bus station. - which is good for going back - change at marbella to catch the bus to malaga airport. if you arrive at the malaga airport and you note that you have just missed a bus to marbella - there is a big timetable board at the bus stop - then get on bus 19 to malaga bus station 1 euro - and catch a bus from there direct to algeciras 10 euro (the one that you would have met at marbella if on the direct from the airport to marbella) otherwise i used to use atlas blue direct from london to marrakech if they had cheap flights as it saved so much time and travel hassle. unless we were wanting to go to asilah and north morocco then to gibraltar with monarch or BA was usually the best bet. now with easy jet also in on it with is much better choice and bduget prices to fly directly into morocco. or at least one leg of it. ie can still be good to start or finish at tangier and have a oneway flight in or out of marrakech.
