Szczecin Urgent Request Buses
Posted: Mon June 26, 2006 08:08 AM UTC
Hi,

I am in Berlin, but my Schengen visa runs out in 2 days - on 28.06, and I need to leave the country. Decided to travel to Szczecin for a day but can not find a bus company whose buses travel there and returns everyday or at least on Mon, Tue, Wed - SOS pls!

I would also want to stay in the city for the night - anyone to recommend a cheap and comfortable hotel in the centre (or hostel but with single rooms)?

10x a lot!

Trains seems to be the best option. You have two direct train from Berlin Ostbanhof to Szczecin. The first one - from Berlin Ostbanhof, dep. 7.48, arr to Szczecin Glowny 9:52, The second one - Berlin Ostbf, dep. 17.34, arr to Szczecin 19.55. And return trains: From Szczecin Glowny dep. 6.00, arr to Berlin 8.25 and second - from Szczecin at 19.57 in Berlin at 22.07.
Relatively good and cheap hostel in szczecin - http://www.ptsm.home.pl/index.php, more info about hotels in Szczecin You can find on a webpage http://hotels.poland-bookings.com/city/pl/szczecin.html?label=gg-Poland-Szczecin-Hotel

Hi!

There are lots of good accomodation in Szczecin. If you need something cheaper, I can recomend youth hostel CUMA. I stayed there and it was ok.

From your post I guess that you intend to return to Berlin - is that correct?

If yes, please be aware that after 90 days of stay in the Schengen area you need to stay away for another 90 days to get a new Schengen visa. Visa run into Poland, Czech Republic etc will not work. It will not renew your tourist visa. You will be illegal in Germany and not be covered by your insurance company any longer.

Let me make this absolutely clear: A visa run into Poland nor another country for less than 90 days does not work.

Hey all, thank you very much!

I am now in sunny Szczecin, came with a train; and am staying at CUMA Hostel

As for the Visa - I actually did not make it clear enough I guess - as I am Bulgarian, I do not generally need a visa to be in Schengen for 90 days, I just needed to be out of Schengen once so that the 90 days term is renewed. I think that is how it was with Polish people before your country entered the EU, huh?

Best regards

Mariya
